Compact Balances

Adam Equipment's portable compact precision balances are the right choice for labs, classrooms, field settings or manufacturing operations. Lightweight and easy to operate, they are powered by AC adapter or battery, allowing use in the field or at remote testing locations where electricity is unavailable.

Compact balances are well-suited for performing basic mass measurement in general science lessons, chemistry labs and physics classrooms – models with a special stackable design are an excellent solution for labs or classrooms with limited space. Adam balances and scales can perform quality control tasks and measurement for packaging and filling in small manufacturing facilities or food processing plants.

FAQ

Durability is just as important as precision in fieldwork. Highland Portable Precision compact balances offer ShockProtect technology, which protects against not only shock and overloading, but falls and drops as well. With readabilities between 0.01g and 0.1g and capacities from 120g to 6000g, Highland is a stellar option for fieldwork.

Different classrooms require different scales. Adam's CB, CBX and Dune compact balances are simple to operate, making them ideal for primary education. Our Highland and Core, with their additional applications and finer readabilities, are advanced enough for use in biology, chemistry and physics classrooms in secondary schools

The CB, CBX and Dune are similar in many ways, but they do have some differences that set them apart.

The Dune series offers a wider variety of models, with readabilities ranging from 0.1g to 2g, with capacities from 200g to 5000g. Dune also features overload protection, so there's a lower risk of damage from placing items above the capacity on the pan.

Our CBXboasts a higher capacity range, from 1200g to 6000g, with readabilities between 0.1g to 1g. It's rechargeable, ideal for regular use away from reliable electricity. It also offers a parts counting function, to count identical parts using the average weight of a small sample.

Adam's CB is the simplest of the three, ideal for measuring compounds in chemistry classes, portioning at food service establishments or weighing small animals.

How long the battery lasts depends on how often you're using the balance and whether you're taking advantage of the backlight. All Adam compact balances feature auto-off, so if you're not using it, you can save battery. Adam compact balances can be used for as many as 24 hours between charges or battery replacements.

You can purchase in-use covers for many of our compact balances. In-use covers protect the balance from light splashes of water or dust.

Our Highland and Core can be purchased with a convenient carrying case for extra protection when you're likely to be travelling.

We recommend keeping a calibration weight handy for all compact balances to ensure you can keep your digital balance accurate over time.

Finally, for those who need to perform density determination with their digital compact balances, we offer density determination kits!
